Whats the diffence between the OBS-BUOY 400 and the OBS-BUOY 7 WATT?

The OBSBUOY 7 WATT is a larger buoy compared to the OBSBUOY 400 . It is solar-powered and offers both cellular data transfer and SATCOM capabilities. In contrast, the OBSBUOY 400 is battery-powered and supports only cellular data transfer.

Can the OBS-BUOY 400 be used in both fresh and saltwater environments?
Yes, the OBSBUOY400 is suited to salt and freshwater applications.
What is the maintenance schedule for the OBS-BUOY 400?

Between 3 – 6 months for biofouling maintenance and battery replacement.

Is the OBS-BUOY 400 suitable for long-term ocean monitoring projects?

Because of the longer life battery life span, with regular biofouling maintenance, the OBSBUOY400
is designed for short to longer term coastal deployments where cellular network coverage is available and in areas with low solar insolation.

What is the expected battery life of the OBS-BUOY 400?

With 8 D cell lithium batteries the expected operational life of the buoy up to 10 months.
